Reye's syndrome is a potentially fatal disease that can cause damage to many organs, including the brain and liver. It is associated with aspirin consumption by children with viral diseases such as chickenpox. For this reason, aspirin and aspirin containing products will not be administered at school without written permission from a parent/guardian and a physician.
